A Yahoo Group, entitled the 'Wakefield Bulletin Board', has been started to help improve communication within our community. A Yahoo Group is a free mail sorter service. It provides a quick and easy way for group members to communicate with one another on-line. Greater Wakefield Resource Center, 254 Main Street, Union at 10:00 a.m. with certified wellness instructor Judy McPheters, Tyshe Health Studio.

Gain flexibility, strength, wellness and fitness for beginners to advanced levels. We have a great group, who not only exercise but also take road/bus trips and educational nutrition classes and we would like all of area citizens to join us.  Cost is $4.00 per class - First class is FREE!

Gafney Library GED/Adult Basic Ed drop-in Center every Wednesday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Greater Resource Center in Union. Individual study help, pretests, career counseling, resume development, workshops...always free coffee and goodies...friendly environment...call the library at 522-3401 for more info. One-on-one study help is also available at other times. All materials and help are free.

The Pantry is open every Wednesday at 8:45am or 4:45pm for all those who would like to donate food to the Food Pantry.   It can be brought in at other times, but please only when it is just not possible to make the Wednesday time periods.  For more information or to schedule a donation delivery please call 522-3094.  Send any monetary donations to P.O. Box 426 Sanbornville 03872.  Wakefield Community Food Pantry is located on Meadow Street in the Parks and Recreation Building in Sanbornville.  It is open for food distribution to all who are in need on Wednesdays from 9:00am-12:00noon and 5:00-7:00pm.   For more information please call 522-3094.

Friends of the Wakefield Libraries will meet at 12:30 at the Gafney Library. Please bring a bag lunch. The meeting is open to everyone and it is a great chance to meet others, learn more about the Gafney Library activities and have a lunch with friends. Moose Mountain Dixieland Jazz Band
The Moose Mountain Dixieland Jazz Band will perform from 3 - 5:00 p.m. at the Opera House in Wakefield.

Sanbornville Fireman's Association Dinner
The Community is welcome to attend the Fireman's Suppers that are sponsored by the Sanbornville Fireman's Association.  They hold a fund-raising dinner to benefit the Wakefield Fire and Rescue Department.  The Fireman's Suppers dinner is held the Third Saturday every month from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Wakefield Public Safety Building (please use back entrance).  Adults are $7 and children 12 and under are $3. East Wakefield Volunteers
The East Wakefield Volunteers Meeting will meet at the East Wakefield Fire Station at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is Welcome to attend. We are always looking for new members. We raise funds to support our local fire department.

Parish Harvest Supper
St. John's has begun holding their  famous Parish Suppers on the third Tuesday of the month and will continue into the fall. They are held at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall, 118 High Street. The cost is $4.00 for adults and $4.00 for children.
